As the saying goes ‘From the past experience, we should be more improved’, before starting PhD course, I should have several preparation. I feel several things about how to improve research performance.
Firstly, how to efficiently find novelty in my research topic. In fact, getting fresh novelty in the famous conference is so difficult. However, when in my master course, my professor told me, “Since research is training, you can promote novelty”. The encouragement relieved me who was ambarassed from research direction. For adapting AI in system domain such as compiler, domain knowledge should be afroad AI knowledge. In my case, studying AI first. Due to lack of system knowledge, my first paper was published last. Before starting PhD course, I should build up system knowledge.
